Novel Type BOOK
For this project, the goal was to redesign a book spread for Black Beauty by Anna Sewell, rethinking the visual language through type and layout. I focused on hierarchy, composition, and the interaction between text and image to use typography as both a functional and expressive tool. In addition to the spreads, I created type display pages to showcase the typeface and demonstrate how it could communicate meaning clearly and compellingly. The project became an opportunity to explore how careful typographic choices can support the narrative, enhance the reading experience, and create a cohesive, visually engaging book design.
